NORTH LANARKSHIRE DAB MULTIPLEX CANCELLED LAUNCH. - 29/7/26 We regret to announce that we will no longer be launching the Cumbernauld and Coatbridge SSDAB multiplex this Summer. Due to the sparse level of interest in taking space on the multiplex by radio service providers, and ever increasing running costs, it is not financially viable to operate this multiplex. OFCOM have been notified and a Licence Revocation statement is being prepared. |
C.I. Broadcasting win new SSDAB Multiplex Licence
Following OFCOM's Invitation to apply for Round 8 Licences for SSDAB Multiplexes, C.I. Broadcasting Ltd submitted an application for the following area, and OFCOM awarded us the licence in April 2026.
SOUTH WEST FIFE
Proposed indoor coverage area (63db) using two transmitter sites.
We are pleased to announce that OFCOM awarded us this licence on the 10/4/26 and we now have 18 months in which to design, build and launch this multiplex.

We had also planned to apply for the Dundee and North East Fife area, but the low level of interest shown by potential radio service operators, coupled with high capital and site rental costs, made this multiplex unviable.

THREE NEW MULTIPLEX AREA WINS FOR C.I. BROADCASTING AND PARTNERS
OFCOM have announced the award of the following SSDAB Multiplex licence areas to C.I. Broadcasting Ltd and it's subsidiary companies or partners:
CUMBERNAULD & COATBRIDGE - Awarded to Tower DAB Ltd - Population coverage 327,000
LANARKSHIRE - Awarded to Lanarkshire DAB Ltd - Population 250,000
NORTH AYRSHIRE - Awarded to North Ayrshire Broadcasting Ltd - Population coverage 85,000 - NOW ON AIR!
All multiplexes are planned to be on-air in early to mid 2026.
C.I. Broadcasting are pleased to announce they will be supplying two new radio services to the Inverclyde Coast DAB Multiplex from the summer of 2026. These being:
Gold Coast Radio - A Gold and Easy Listening Service playing the melodies and tunes from the Swing era through to the Hits of the 1970s and 1980s.
The Coast. Local radio for the Clyde Coast area from Ayrshire to Glasgow.
Local news, local traffic and playing Just Great Songs!

INSTALLATION COMPLETE FOR INVERCLYDE MULTIPLEX - 3/8/24
Our Transmitter Network build for our client Coast DAB Ltd for their Inverclyde DAB multiplex has now been completed and testing has begun. A few problems outwith our control due to site connectivity, but all solved now.
We do promise to tidy the cables up to make everything neat and tidy!
And you can't beat the view from this site!
